Anastasia Feruleva was born in Apatity (Russia) and began studying the cello at the age of five. Atfourteen, she was admitted to the special music school of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. From ayoung age, she performed regularly in her home country, and her concert tours took her acrossEurope, including the Netherlands, where she completed her bachelor’s degree with LarissaGroeneveld and Michel Strauss at the Royal Conservatory The Hague.
Under the guidance of Prof. Troels Svane, she completed her master’s degree at the Hochschule fürMusik Hanns Eisler Berlin with highest distinction. She also obtained her concert exam at theHochschule für Musik Lübeck, again with distinction. Anastasia recently completed her postgraduatestudies with Professor Ivan Monighetti at the Reina Sofía School of Music.
Her artistic development has also been shaped by the influence of artists such as David Geringas,Wolfgang-Emmanuel Schmidt, Jens-Peter Maintz, Reinhard Latzko, Gary Hoffman, Ralph Kirshbaum,Arto Noras, Miklós Perényi, Ferenc Rados, Michel Strauss, Eberhard Feltz, and Raphael Wallfisch,among others, during masterclasses at institutions such as the Kronberg Academy, IMS Prussia Cove,and the Gstaad Menuhin Festival.
As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras including the Lübeck Philharmonic Orchestra, theWürttemberg Philharmonic Orchestra, the North Netherlands Orchestra, and the NetherlandsPhilharmonic Orchestra / Netherlands Chamber Orchestra.
At the National Cello Biennale Competition 2016 in Amsterdam, she won second prize as well as anaward for the best performance of the commissioned work.
She is also active as a chamber musician and is a frequent guest at festivals such as the Cello BiennaleAmsterdam, Tsinandali Festival, Orlando Festival, Storioni Festival, and the Giverny Chamber MusicFestival. She collaborates with artists and ensembles such as Raphael Wallfisch, Michel Strauss,Philippe Graffin, Silke Avenhaus, Rick Stotijn, Vladimir Mendelssohn, and the CamerataConcertgebouw.
She has gained extensive orchestral experience with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, where shehas been a frequent guest player since 2016, as well as with the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestraand the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra / Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, where she has held apermanent position since 2017. In 2025, she frequently appeared as guest principal cellist with theRoyal Opera House London.
In 2018, she released her debut CD Ballets Russes with Dutch pianist Frank van de Laar on GutmanRecords. She also gave her debut recital at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam as part of the YoungMasters on Tour series. In February 2021, a new, widely acclaimed CD, L’esprit du temps, featuringworks by George Enescu, Igor Stravinsky, Lili Boulanger, and Nadia Boulanger, was released on theTRPTK label.
She plays a 1710 cello by Rombouts.
