
Harald Edin is a rising star in the European classical music scene. At the age of 15, he debuted as a soloist with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, and at 18, he won first prize in the Öresunds Soloist Competition. The following year, Harald joined the prestigious Karajan Academy, where he has since had the opportunity to perform regularly with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Harald began playing the double bass at age 8, studying under Ferdinand Lipa in Gothenburg. His talent has earned him numerous awards, including the Guido Vecchi Prize in 2023 and second prizes at Polstjärnepriset in 2020 and 2022. He has received chamber music coaching from renowned conductors including Kirill Petrenko and Sir Simon Rattle. Harald currently studies at Universität der Künste Berlin with Janne Saksala, the principal bassist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
