Oleg Shebeta-Dragan

Oleg Shebeta-Dragan shot to international attention in the spring of 2022 as winner of the clarinet category at the Carl Nielsen International Competition in Odense. His playing was noted for its flair, brilliance and technical finesse at the competition, where he also claimed the Special Prize of the Copenhaghen Philhrmonic and the Junior Jury Prize.

Oleg studied at the National Music Academy of Ukraine with Roman Vovk, at the Musikhochschule Lübeck with Reiner Wehle and is now a student at the same institution
with Jens Thoben. He has occupied the principal clarinet chair of the National Presidential
Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and of the I Culture Orchestra in Poland which led him to
work with leading conductors including Kirill Karabits. With the Chamber Orchestra of
Hanover, he gave the world premiere performance of the Concerto Breve by Nicolas Bacri.
Oleg is a laureate of the Silverstein Global Clarinet Competition (Grand Prize) and the
Kharkiv International Clarinet Competition (First Prize). He recorded Carl Nielsen’s Clarinet
Concerto with the Odense Symphony Orchestra for the British label Orchid Classics. He
signed to Nordic Artists Management in 2022.
